Volunteering sessions with Leicester Environmental Volunteers (LEV) First ever time rowing a canoe and litter picking on the old river soar. It was sad to see so much rubbish from the usual plastic bottles, beer cans, polystyrene. We also pulled out a cutlery tray, computer hard drive case, roadworks barriers and a inflatable mattress that a very chubby Perch was using as a home…. He gave quickly put back into the water. It was great to see new parts of the river and city. Unfortunately there is so much rubbish in the water and on the river banks, it wasn’t possible to clean it all in three hours.
