On a cloudy bank holiday Monday, it was wonderful to see a group of red t-shirts gathering outside of Glass Mill ready to do good!

We began with what I thought was going to be a simple warm up but ended up with everyone nearly falling over each other BUT there was lots and lots of laughing so I think it was an excellent warm up. Before anyone injured themselves, we started to make our way over to Hither Green. Thanks Jacqueline for back marking.

There was a very long hill to tackle before the we arrived at the task but everyone did amazing! At the task, we had 3 different areas to begin clearing: Digging up a large patch of grass, clearing the weeds along the path and clearing the weeds around the strawberries

Amazingly we got so much of the area cleared and we have helped make a big dent in this project. We're back at St Swithun's on 11th September for a painting task. Unfortunately there are no spaces left but we'll be back painting there in the future.

For our run back to Glass Mill, we detoured to Ladywell Fields for a quick fitness session were I had a bag of different workouts and everyone had to keep picking them, these included: Hill Sprints, squats, lunges, planks and mountain climbers. I thought it was so much fun and I was just holding out the bag!

Next week we are off to do some good at Wildcat Wilderness, sign up here. If you haven't been before, it is a wonderful space hidden away in Catford.

Saint Swithun's Church Garden Clear Out
Clear out overgrown garden to make it safe

Saint Swithun's Church Garden has been unloved however we are hoping to make it an open space for people to come and enjoy. To make it either a community garden or for people to use for as part of hall hire. It's a wonderful space that can be used to serve the community... But it needs to be cleared. If people do have their own gardening tools that would be ideal.
