Gosia and John met up in Hammersmith today to help Notting Hill Genesisย in sorting of gifts ๐ŸŽ, donations and food items ๐Ÿ›’ which will be then distributed to four food banks for christmas time.

We entered a medium sized conference room with a table covered with an impressive number of bags ๐Ÿ› and boxes ๐Ÿ“ฆ filled with a variety of food and other donations collected by local organisations. First part of our task was to unpack them all. As easy at it sounds with such a volume it was taking much more time (and space) that we expected.

Around half-way of unpacking, we started to categorize the products and making "themed" piles including cans ๐Ÿฅซ, pasta ๐Ÿ, tea ๐Ÿต & coffee โ˜•, cereals ๐Ÿฅฃ and treats ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿช๐Ÿญ. This will help later ๐Ÿ™‚.

Once everything was unpacked there wasn't much time left. We have managed to wrap few boxes with a decorated paper (how surprisingly-not-easy was this!) and filled them with a nice selection of goodies. There is still a lot to be done but it was a good start!

This task supported
Notting Hill Genesis Christmas Gift & Food Appeal
To assist with the sorting of gift and food items being distributed to charitable causes.

NHGโ€™s Christmas appeal supports residents living in our homeless hostels, and our refuges for women and children fleeing domestic violence as well as food banks. We do this by inviting staff to purchase gifts/food items that will then be distributed to these groups.
