There is no 'I' in 'Team', but there is an 'A' for Angie and an 'M' for Meggie!

Check out the photo of the beatuiful sunflower that greeted them when they arrived at the allotment this evening. Quite a change from when Angie was last here at our launch in February! This is thanks in no small part to Meggie's dedication to this community project.

Meggie describes the evening's work:

This evening we have been tackling all the jobs listed by Sue: the hole has been filled; we moved to the compost bin all the weeds, cuttings and soil with roots from behind the shed; from the same pile of cuttings and soil we selected all the good soil that could be re-used in the raised beds and we stored it in a few big bags. In the meantime the butts have been topped up. While I was watering the plants Angie had been weeding the paving slabs and around the shed and she did the magnificent edging in the photo.

A plane was about to land on it thinking it was T6 in London Heathrow

While they were working they had a supervisor checking the quality of the jobs done. It was a cute Robin that kept them company all evening.

The Maidenhead Community Allotment is run by a group of volunteers, who grow food to share with local residents, the users of the Boyn Grove Community and Resource Centre and Maidenhead Foodshare. They work with Men in Sheds, who are based on the same site. Men in Sheds is an initiative to combat loneliness by providing a space for men to connect and chat over practical tasks.
