Six enthisiastic Good gymers visited the new home of the Green Skills Library in Maidenhead to help clean up. After much scrubbing, elbow grease and polishing the kitchen shone and sparkled. We emptied buckets and bowls of dirty water down the sinks, a satisfying task!

3 GoodGymers met on a windy and rainy evening for an indoor task - lucky us! What was not lucky was the constant beep of the alarm where we were working. Thankfully we're a talkative lot and the sound didn't bother us much.
This evening we helped the Green Skills Library as they continue their preparation to move to the new location. There were a lot of ties to be snipped off a metal frame, to free up baubles and light strings which were well encased in cling film. Methodically, we worked through them and before long we had dismantled 5 metal frames, freeing up-too-many-to-count baubles and lights.
We walked away in the rain, leaving task owner Donna happy and thankful once again.

Six GoodGymmers made their way through the sunshine to meet task owner Angela at the Eco Action Hub.
With the Nicholson Centre due for demolition, all its occupants have just a week and a half to clear out. We’ve already been helping several charities with their moves — and tonight it was the Eco Action Hub’s turn.
The upstairs area was packed with furniture, boxes and all sorts of upcycling treasures that needed shifting downstairs for various groups to collect. Angela started us off with items for Wild Maidenhead, (a gazebo, boxes of leaflets and posters) plus a rack of folding chairs. “I’m sure that will be enough,” she said.
Little did she know about GoodGym efficiency… or the fact that we were already glowing from the heat.
Those first items were whisked downstairs in no time, so we moved straight on to everything else. Tables, branches, bamboo, blankets, more chairs and even more tables. In the warm evening air we scurried up and down the stairs like determined (and increasingly sweaty) ants, lifting, shifting and stacking.
Despite the heat, the teamwork was brilliant, and before long the upstairs was cleared and the ground floor neatly piled with items ready for collection.
Another hot and hardworking mission done — and more to come.

On the 20th day of May, Goodgym said to me...
9 Goodgymmers gymming 8 people snipping 7 reams of tinsel 6 strings of lights 5 bare baubles 4 bare bottoms....
9 Goodgymmers made their way to green skills library to held with the de-assembly of the old bauble decorations in the nicholsons centre
There was lots of reminiscing about the good old days of Smokeys, but we still made quick work of the task and soon had a pile of naked baubles in the corner!
another successful task down!

People to Places provides a door-to-door transport service for local residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead with mobility needs. Their minibuses are always in need of a wash - it makes a difference to their passengers as well - so who do they call?...
Five GoodGymers took a chance with the weather and decided the skies will be clear by 7pm. Boy were they proven wrong! 😂
Not only did it not stop raining, we also had some hail to level things up! Like the wise folks say, when life throws rain at you, grab the soap and wash the minibuses. (Ok maybe nobody says that!)
But we did - grab the soap and wash the minibuses, 6 in all.
Sara, Sol, and Rachel played Jump rope with the hose while a clean bus was being swapped for a dirty one. A fun evening, albeit quite wet, especially for Sara who wielded a leaky hose which wet her more than the rain. Such a trooper!
