Despite the forecast thunderstorms eight GoodGymmers made their way to Scammonden yesterday evening. It was great to see Wendy out again after lockdown. The weather actually turned out to be a lovely, warm, sunny evening. Although those of us who decided to run around the reservoir before the task felt that it was a little too warm! Our task was to collect discarded tree guards and to pile them up in a central spot ready to be loaded into a skip. As usual Huddersfield GoodGymmers quickly got stuck in carrying armfuls of guards down the hill to near the sailing club. I lost track of who managed to get all the way there without dropping any! After a couple of trips we had made a significant dent and shifted about quarter of the guards, and it was time to make our way back to the carpark. On the way we had to pose with the tree planter statue of course. It was a climb back to our cars but we were rewarded with individually wrapped cheese scones baked by David at the top. We will be back at Scammonden on the 8th September for some more tree guard shifting. You can sign up here: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/collecting-tree-guards-at-scammonden

THANK YOU to David for the cheese scones. They were much needed after this workout. I am loving GoodGym!
