GoodGym volunteered at Caledonian Junior Parkrun this Sunday morning. After the last spring-like weekend 🌞, today turned out to be rather chilly ❄️ with around 3°C.

We arrived at the gathering point at 08:45 and met there the other volunteers. The run director - Jon - assigned us with a marshal spot 📍 so we started to set up and get ready for the run.

Gosia covered the position one, close to the start line. The bubble 🫧 machine worked there just perfectly 👌, to give the youngsters a proper send off. Ultimately this spot became an important and a "looking forward to" spot in the route as kids progressed with their laps.

One boy, while doing the second lap actually paused his progress with the race to indulge himself a bit more in dancing and staring at the bubbles 😆.

John was assigned to spot two, the next one after the start line. He had a tambourine 🎵, which he used to level up his cheer for the runners as they were passing by his spot.

After the last runner passed our positions, we came back to the clocktower 🕚 to hand over our kit. The organisers reported a turnaround of app. 40 kids which might be a record 🏅 for the parkrun!
