For today's lunchtime session at Bethnal Green Food bank there were three of us, including veteran food bank volunteer Jo along with me, and my first time helping at this site and (big round of applause) Henry on his first ever GoodGym task, having moved to London within the last month.

After getting settled in and after a quick brief from Food Bank hero Andy, we got underway with our various tasks. Jo was manning the iPad helping with registration, whilst I was ferrying out bags of essential goods to those Jo had registered whilst Henry was tasked with handling any returns.

It was a very slick operation and the slot went past very quickly, and was a most fulfilling experience with many gracious people glad for their assorted bags of crucial food.

We are here on a weekly basis and would thoroughly recommend it if you are able to nip out on your lunch break or do the afternoon or evening sessions to help out the fantastic team of very welcoming volunteers.
