We were on a slug hunting mission... the pesky slugs are eating the crops so GG to the rescue!

We met Liz who armed us with knives, buckets, gloves and head torches and then we started to slug hunt!

edit... Laura arrived with a slug so she was already well away 😂

Tricky to find in the dry conditions but as it got darker they started to appear... and after 2 hours of hunting we had found over 300 slugs!!!!

It was a fun evening with funny sounds of squeals from close slug encounters...slimy little suckers.

The ducks will have a lovely breakfast!🦆

Super chuffed to see our two newest members Steve and Laura. You doubled our efforts this evening, thankyou and thankyou all for staying so late 😊

Aldermoor Community Farm
Nurturing the potential of people and land

ldermoor Community Farm was started in 2014 as business owned by its members – a co-operative. This was a great way to start, but in 2020 we transitioned to become a charity and now benefit from being a project of Alder Trust. Not only do we now have the financial benefits of being a charity, but we are part of a larger organisation, a local charity with similar values and goals. We benefit from a wider governing body and from basic admin support, giving us more energy to focus on our work on the land.
