A BIG GG SHF welcome to a new runner this week, give her a whoop, hola, cheer and follow:
Welcome Kathryn, hope you enjoyed your first session and that we see you back on another run soon!
It was also great to see Kat back on a run after having her first child, she was looking fantastic and it was great to hear of her plans to slowly get back into the habit of running. Amazing to hear!
This weeks task had us back at Heeley People's Park to visit our good friend Parky Rob to help with turning/fluffing the wood chip on and around the playground areas to ensure it remains soft and fluffy for any playground users to land on.
Fork me it was tough work, you can tell why gardeners are always in great shape! Some very specific movements involved on this task and great to have a task that keeps us warm on the increasingly colder evenings!
With all three playground areas turned and fluffed to perfection we admired our work under the GG spotlights and made our way home for the evening.
Until next time, happy running! :)

We had two new runners join us last night, a BIG GG welcome to:
Give them both a woop, hola, cheer and a follow!
Both Alba and Tom enjoyed the session and said they would be back for more, so it will be great to see them again soon!
This weeks task was a great one up at Heeley City Farm where we met Julie Blacker at the office, who gave us a quick run down of the evenings activities. The task was to move big wet logs from the bottom of a field, up and out of the field and into a poly tunnel where they can be dried out and cut, ready for sale to the public, with all funds going back into on site projects.
It was slippery under foot in the field where the logs were stacked so the first job was to lay down some scaffolding for us to walk and wheel our way across with barrows full of wood. We love a good plank at GG, so this was no probs at all.
We all managed a good number of loads with minimal spillage along route. We even had time to check out all of the animals on the farm including pigmy goats and pregnant pigs!
Julie was very thankful to us all and passed on her thanks from Nigel who is normally lumbered with this job..
Until next time, happy running! :)

Unfortunately tonights scheduled task to help our good friends at SUSTRANS had to be canceled last minute due to family matters of task owner. Family must come first and we wish them all well.
We managed to source a back up task however and headed to Park Hills secret bunker to get tooled up with litter pickers, bags and hoops for a litter pick of the area.
As it was the day after bonfire night there were plenty of used fireworks to collect and bin as well as a lot of No2 dispensers which weigh a lot!
We did a good complete circuit of Park Hill flats all collecting a decent hall before calling it a night.
We passed a lovely authentic Indian street food spot on route called 5TARA and decided to follow our run up with some delicious food which went down a treat and left us wanting to come back for more in the future!
Until next time, happy running :)

Well the nights are most definitely closing in and the time for head torches once again coming out are here once again!
For tonights task they come in particularly handy as they make the litter sparkle and shine ready for the picking!
We met with Pitsmoor Litter Picker stalwart Karen who continues to fight the ongoing difficult challenge of battling the litter in Pitsmoor and Burngreave areas. She is amazing and it's good to be able to support her.
We met at 'My Dentist' and got tooled up with bags, pickers and hoops and got to it, collecting as much litter as possible.
We were serenaded by locals, thanked for our work and had a lovely friendly disco dog joining us which is always nice!
Becca came with a 'can do' attitude and offered to be the 'can lady' for the eve collecting all the cans in the area that Karen would take away to be recycled.
Lovely stuff.
