It was lovely to see so many of you turning out for Vic's 100th.
I think Vic enjoyed it and it was amusing watching her manage an errant helium balloon while mustering sufficient breath to thank her many well wishers.
Sorry, you couldn't make it in the end, Chris & Claire, but I hope you're both ok. You must share your novel soup recipe with me... although I wouldn't exactly describe your additives as 'vegan'.

Tonight ten Goodgymers came ready to give a helping hand to Clothing Coventry. We welcomed back Susanne for one night only as she flies back to Germany this week - it was great to have you with us tonight!
We came loaded with donations and bags which Jackie, Nigel and Susanne walked ahead with, leaving the runners to warm up. Once we arrived, we gathered inside and the task owner, Jo, dished out the to do list. With the outside being a bit wet we remained inside this eve and squeezing into every nook and cranny, we sorted the piles that needed our attention including coats, mens clothes and shoes.
Once we were done Nigel and Jackie started on the walk back with Laura P joining to save her legs after a mammoth run on Saturday. They were followed by the rest of us who ran back to base for our cool down.
Thanks for all you efforts tonight everyone :) Hope to see you all next week!

Six Goodgymers made our way to the Team Springboard allotment to support with tasks around the site.
This week, our tasks included sorting and tidying the wood pile and arranging other useful reclaimed items so they are safely stored and easy to find. The brambles also needed a good chop back and there were lots of slabs to create a path to the tool shed. The sun came out as we got a good workout sorting and moving bits and bobs around, chopping brambles and arranging the paving into a path shape and is (roughly) level.
After we had finished our tasks, we had time for a lovely cuppa and home-made GoodGym-gerbread (see photos!) from Katherine and Nigel and apple cake from Esther. We always have a lovely time at Team Springboard and are looking forward to going again soon!

*2 members of Coventry GoodGym completed lots of tasks at the Springboard community allotment. *
There was plenty to be getting on with today, as the recent mix of sunshine and rain, combined with the beginning of autumn has meant that everything is growing vigorously. Unfortunately, this means the weeds are making their presence felt too!
Tasks today included weeding, planting broccoli, applying compost around plants, tea drinking, and some more weeding. We also constructed a frame with netting over some of the new plants to protect from hungry pigeons.
Much of the produce is donated to local foodbanks and services for the homeless. Look out for future missions at Springboard in the coming months as we continue to support this beautiful and tranquil space.
