Nine Goodgymmers, Chloe, James, Luke, Millie, Sophie, Eleanor, Daryl, Keith and Lea, were ready and raring to go walk leading the Walk for Wards at 9 o’clock this morning…. Eh, well, the organisers had failed to mention that the actual walks didn’t start till 11 o’clock! Goodgymmers being Goodgymmers filled the time with reading about the queen, about rocks and minerals, and happily chatting away, admiring the bubble machine and getting some faces painted. The Star studded lawn, with Captain America, Mary Poppins, the Incredible Hulk, Resident Evil (eh who?!?!), Snowwhite, Sulley, Ghostbusters …. added a bit more entertainment, although Millie, Sophie, Luke and Eleanor were nearly drawn to “The Dark Side”! Nope, didn’t happen: ready for the off first were Sophie, Millie, Eleanor and Luke, leading the 10k walk. Closely followed by Daryl and Lea walk leading the 5k with Keith as a backmarker. Last but not least Chloe and James set off to lead the 3k walk. My oh my, was it sloooow going! What didn’t help was a lady thinking she was walking the 3k , but she was in the 10k group. Luckily we managed to point her to the right group. And there were many people of such varying abilities. Kudos to the old guy in the 5k pushing a lady in a wheelchair all the way round! Seeing why and who people were walking for was really impressive. The 10k walk all the way to the Asda roundabout and back got a little “long in the tooth” and James not getting through to the organisers emergency numbers were a tad tedious (read: annoying/frightening)! But with the weather Gods providing us with bluer than blue skies, we were all happy to have completed another Goodgym task! Thanks everyone!

A warm welcome to Luke, who managed to find us on his first Goodgym mission. That was quite a feat in itself as we had trouble finding the Windmill Hub last time… Anyway, six Goodgymmers, Sophie, Emma, Daryl, Luke, Keith and Lea, turned up at the right place… but no Patsy. Luckily it didn’t take too long for her to turn up. Three tasks, so we were split up. Keith and Daryl got the varnishing going and with two coats of it all finished. Emma was really happy when Patsy announced a sorting task in the crafts cupboard, with Luke volunteering to help her. Sophie and Lea were sent across to the Treehouse, the charity shop, where Chloe was incredibly pleased to see us. Up a really spooky staircase to a room full of BAGS! Lots of bags emptied and sorted into other bags. Lots of “oh my, look at this, this is so cute”. Lea would have dressed her grandson ten times over with Sophie contemplating dressing future offspring in cuter than cute clothes. Back at the Windmill hub, with Luke putting his hoovering skills to good use, we got together for a quick group photograph. After a productive morning we left a very happy Patsy and Chloe who are already thinking of more tasks we can do! Yay!!! Thanks everyone for your help. Oh BTW no before/after pictures, but we did a lot even without those to show for it!
