Back again with Age UK H&F, we helped cater the event for all the wonderful volunteers and staff who give up so much throughout the year to provide support for others.
As always, we also got to sample to delicious grub that had been served up, from chicken to three bean stew, with a delicious jacket potato to go alongside with some salad! For dessert, a delicious fruit salad.
With speeches done and food consumed, we helped with the packdown of the event, washing up trays and pots and putting away tables.
Whilst we were frittering away, our very own Biscuits secured a spot in the London Marathon 2024. Congratulations Biscuits!

Although we might have not have been to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, GoodGym still got to attend… to help Myeloma UK pack up and dismantle their ‘A Life Worth Living’ garden, which has been on display during the show.
Although we do a lot of gardening tasks with GoodGym, this one was a little different. First of all, we were provided with high viz and steel cap boots as per health and safety on the site, and we all got our own access passes too. If that doesn’t make you feel professional, what does?! We also made sure we had plenty of water and suncream, as we didn’t want any one to get sun-fern or de-hydrangea-ated. Flower powered up, we were ready to get going.
There were various tasks to be getting on with, but the three main jobs were:
Digging up the plants from the garden and repotting them so they could be taken away
Preparing trolleys and trays for the plants to go on, and loading the potted plants onto them
Watering and wrapping the plants on the trolleys, ready to be taken away to their new home.
A lot of the task was ‘organised chaos’, but we stem-braced the challenge, and were happy to grow with the flow (especially Ishan who made a new best friend in the hose pipe!). It wasn’t just the physical side of us that got a work out, as we had to problem solve and reload a few trolleys to make sure all the plants fit! We could have lost the pot, but working with fronds we were re-leafed to get the task completed.
It was bloom-ing interesting to see how they packed away, and how hard you have to work to look after these plants. A reward for our endeavours, we were soiled for choice with some complimen-tree sweet treats, and a few wonderful bouquets that would otherwise have gone for composting.
A tree-mendous task on a bee-autiful day. We just plant get enough!

Kept on the downlow, but a massive congratulations to Divya on reaching 100 good deeds.
A stalwart across many boroughs of Goodgym London, it seems only yesteray that Divya was attending his first good deed with us, here's hoping many more to come (and we can finally get you to wear your GG shirt).
We also welcomed Holly to her first ever Goodgym mission! A large bunch of Goodgymmers came together to help the friends of Ravenscourt Park tidy up the rosebeds which, by virtue of the increased rain and sun we've had, were rapidly being overtaken by many low-lying weeds.
Hopefully with our tidy up the beds will look even more beautiful when those roses start coming into bloom!
As per usual, we went to the garden centre cafe afterwards before the heavens decided that's when they wanted to rain us off.
Thanks to everyone for coming, you made a lot of work a lot lighter and hope to see you all again soon!

Another wonderful time helping Donnatella at Brook Green with a variety of Jobs. We spent much of the time once again clearing the leaves from the flower beds opposite the tennis courts; using my favourite tools the giant dinosaur hands (or leaf scoopers) to put them into the compost bins.
We then started helping with planting some plugs to hopefully create a natural green barrier around some areas of the green before leaving before it got too dark.
Lovely to see Maria on one of her first goodgym missions with us and Holly whose trying to find a new home Goodgym after moving to London from Oxford!
See you all next time!
