On a bright Wednesday evening, our brilliant bunch of GoodGymmers headed to Hook Lane Primary School for a hands-on task that combined clearing rubbish, working on the climbing frame, and laying whole lot of woodchipping.
First up, we tackled a pile of accumulated stuff โ broken bits of guttering, piping, pipe insulation and other random debris -- ferrying it from next to the shed on the playing field to the official rubbish area. So much tidier!
Meanwhile, Robert lend a strong pair of hands โ and a sharp eye for engineering and DIY โ to help teacher Dan repair the climbing frame. It's slowly coming back to life for breaktime adventures.
Next came the main event: laying down woodchippings to transform the mud kitchen into a cleaner, safer, and more inviting space for the kids to play.
We shovelled, wheeled, and spread the chippings with impressive coordination โ like a very outdoorsy conveyor belt.
By the end of the hour, the mud kitchen looked transformed and ready for all the mini chefs to do their thing ๐ฉโ๐ณ๐จโ๐ณ.
A big thanks to everyone who came out and made such a positive impact!
Great work team, letโs do it again soon! ๐ฅ

Just two of us at Parkview Care Home task this evening but we had a lovely time chatting with some of the residents, and staff members Annette and Andy.
And we met the care home cat, Ginger, who seems to have a very comfortable life!
Next month we'll be washing the minibus and planting flowers, so come along and join us.

Tomorrow Welling Station will celebrate its 130th birthday and 200 years of the railway.
Tonight we ran, walked and cycled to the station to help with final preparations for their party.
First we swept ๐งน๐งน๐งน the approach road where stalls and displays will be put up. So many cigarette butts!
Then we sealed goody bags that will be given to winners of a competition to design railway-themed posters ๐. All the lovely entries are on display in the ticket hall. We hope passengers will pause to appreciate them as they pass through the area.
Next, we pinned flyers promoting local community organisations onto a noticeboard that will be on display at the Discover Welling stand ๐๐๐. Of course, we included some GoodGym leaflets!
And we watered the flowerbeds ๐ป๐ท.
It was great to have Julie with us for her first GoodGym task. Having worked with us through Discover Welling on many tasks, we're thrilled to have you as part of the GG team.
The station team could not have been more welcoming and friendly. They've worked really hard to put up bunting, stuff goody bags ready to give away to travelers, and get things looking fab.
Happy birthday Welling Station ๐๐ฅณ!

This morning saw us at the Community Hospice's warehouse in Welling, sorting donations to be distributed to the charity's shops across Greenwich and Bexley.
After a warm welcome and some training by Andrew and James, we set to work inspecting and sorting the pre-loved clothes, shoes, bags, soft furnishings and other assorted items into separate bags ready for their onward journey to hopefully find a new owner.
There was lots of chatter and the time flew by.
Thank you for having us Andrew and James. And congratulations to Jane and Zita on your first GoodGym task ๐ฅณ!
We have another session at the warehouse next Saturday. Places are limited so sign-up soon if you'd like to go along!
