Bournemouth Report written by Bournemouth runner
Ten Goodgymmers, Sophie, Emma, Millie, James, Caprice, Daryl, Oscar, Martin, Keith and Lea turned up tonight at St Augustin’s church. Ruth there had a “tall” task for us: cleaning the walls at the front of the church and hoovering curtains. Armed with buckets, cloths, towels and hoovers we put in plenty of elbow grease. A tall task?!?! Well… up to a certain height only though! Built in 1891 and a grade II listed building: the walls are higher than high and no ladders allowed. In spite of that: Lea and Keith were on bucket duty, James and James (see photo) had a blast together hoovering! Martin from Goodgym Luton blended in perfectly with the Bournemouth lot. Newcomer Oscar tucked in right away and Sophie, Emma and Millie will hopefully not have sore arms tomorrow, happily scrubbing away there. And, of course, our happy leaders Caprice and Daryl were there getting their ‘goodness-knows-how-maniest’ tasks complete! And well done Martin for spotting the mouse in the pews… At the end of our mission the (lower part of the) walls shone brightly! Thanks everyone for all your hard work.

It's that time again! Our favourite task of the month, GoodGym's Quiz at Abbeyfield Retirement Home! We were joined by newbie Mary for the short run to the task. Welcome Mary, we look forward to seeing you at some more group runs in the future! The Group Runners, Mary, Eleanor, Daryl, Caprice and Ross were met at the task by Sophie, Milly and Emma. The groups split into three teams, James joining his favourite ladies, "The Loose Women" , Daryl Eleanor, Mary and Ross in team "The Famous Six Go Large" (there was five but were joined by late by Janet) and Sophie, Milly and Emma in Team "No name". With this month's quizmaster being Caprice. Four rounds of good old General Knowledge as requested by the residents, with some True and False and multiple choice thrown in for good measure. This week's winners smashed it with a whopping 28/39 "The Famous Six Go Large" Well done to you, the sixth team member clearly made a mark! We will return for Quiz night on 11th March!! We hope to see you there!

Tonight's session was to help our good friends at Hope Housing. Runners Julie, Daryl and Caprice met for the Group Run to the session. James, Milly, Sophie and Emma made their own way to the task. A big welcome to Emma, Sophie's sister. It was lovely meeting her and we hope to see her at future sessions. At the task we were met by Tony who got us to work clearing and tidying a store room. We created a chain to move everything out of the store room. Emma, Sophie, and Milly got to work sweeping and Julie found a dustpan and brush to clear up the mess. The contents of the room were then returned in a more orderly fashion. With easy accessible item located at the front. These items were to be taken to Hope's Charity Shop located in Southbourne. Many hands make light work as we were all done and dusted in 30 minutes. Next month Tony would like us to tackle the large store room so that should be fun. Next week it's Quiz at Abbeyfield Retirement Home. See you there!!

James (He/Him) earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
James completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, James was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
