Leeds Report written by Helen Noyes
Ten of us headed to Meanwood Farm, braving the biblical storm and arriving drenched to the skin. Looking at the day old lambs revived us somewhat and Jen quickly put us to work on various tasks. We spent an hour potting up chilli seedlings, barrowing compost to the polytunnels, and digging it into neat rows ready for planting. The weather turned more spring-like and the lighter evening allowed us to see how the compost bins we have been turning all winter have produced excellent wormy compost. Jen rewarded us with lettuce and we ran back to HEART with our arms full of our bounty. True spirit of landworkers!

We are a small charity with limited resources, so jobs like this often fall by the wayside. It helps us to continue to focus on our core work, but also with compost, it means we can have less inputs and save money

It was boys vs girls tonight as we split into two groups to leaflet to OWLS service users around Headingley & Burley.
The girls did just under 7K & were happy to bump into the boys group just as they were finishing. We dragged them around to finish with us (I bet they wish they hadn't seen us)!!! Thanks to Christian & Adam who took the last ones to finish off on their way home.
It was so nice to do a task in the light tonight....Hello Spring!!
It was also good to welcome back Fay & Katie.
Great work team!

Last night we split into two groups to go on our quarterly leafletting run for Older Wiser Local Seniors.
We headed to Burley, Kirkstall & Headingley to ensure their service users know what's coming up over the next 3 months.
OWLS provide a wide range of activities to help local seniors remain fit, healthy and independent. Whether it’s a trip to their allotment, a day out shopping, or an exercise class; they have all sorts going on.
All of the activities and services that they arrange are tailored to help older people meet other people, learn new skills, and have fun together.
Katie came back to see us from Sheffield, so that was a good enough excuse for us all to head to the pub after our run.
Thanks to Helen & Bryony for leading a group each. Congratulations to Katie Lees on her 150th good deed, that's an amazing achievement & to Jason on his 30th.
Well done team!
