All Good Gymmers turned up, on time, bright eyed and bushy tailed only to find the two task owners were running late. Irfan was gathering supplies on his way in, Gen didn't give a reason but possibly a lie in being bit de-mob happy given it was her last session. The shelves had already been filled the night before so we took time to chill and catch up on gossip.
Once we did get underway it was the usual organised chaos with Irfan's delivery being put away as we started getting on with the packing lists. The gates to the car park were stuck closed causing problems for the drivers conversely the building doors seemed to be stuck open making it a chilly job today. Someone thought they were being helpful by numbering a spare trolley (you know who you are😂) but it was left out of sequence and the subsequent confusion meant a package was missed.
As ever these issues were all taken in our stride with everyone working as a team to resolve them and it all got done in time for lunch.

There were four good gymers at the session Linda was the session leader ( and is preparing to take on the role of food bank coordinator ) with James , Herman and myself. With the help of other volunteers, we packed about 40 orders for the drivers to collect and deliver as well as restocking the shelves with donations and store bought crates of everyday items. Today was special in that Linda has completed 500 missions !! , well done Linda who is a great inspiration to other good gymers and a fantastic example of what can be achieved on a personal level. The session was completed in a couple of hours with just the orders left to be picked up by the drivers during the evening.

9 GoodGymmers assisted at Frenford Food Bank today with festive tunes playing and tasty treats supplied to keep the party atmosphere going. We also had the assistance of a local Guide group today so it didn't take long for all the packages to be completed and loaded up on to the trolleys. There were also extra drivers courtesy of Guide parents and carers so the packages were just as efficiently dispatched.
Special mention to Angela who rounded up a couple of 9 year olds who were a great help, Angela also took a package for delivery, what a star player. So sorry you escaped our 📸 again, we will get you next time 😁
In pursuit of another kind of stardom the rapidly emptying dance studio turned into a GG lip-sinking session with a rousing rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, our Ben was determined this should not stop until at least the musical bridge but a driver asked him for help at the crucial moment and he had to abandon the session to assist, what a pro!
Very happy to see the return of James and Mike this week recovered from recent illness and good to see Tina and Herman turning into trusty regulars in the group.
All set to leave and Gen (task owner) got a last minute request so Jenny and Katherine sprung into action packing the bags while Gen was taking the order, the package was put together and we popped the bags into the drivers car on our way out. Another good job done. Merry Christmas Everyone. 🎄

Well more Waiting For Sainsburys than Santa but it sounded better 😁.
James and Linda arrived at Frenford Food Bank to find Herman, Angela and some of Frenford’s own volunteers already hard at work. We all got stuck in picking, packing, sorting Christmas gifts for recipients with children, assisting drivers and restocking the shelves with the latest delivery. All done with Christmas cheer music in the background. Angela had to leave and the rest of us enjoyed a well earned break with a soft drink and festive goodies thrown in before heading off when we were told another delivery was due in from Sainsbury’s at any minute. Keen to get ahead of the game for the next days session we hung on to see it off loaded.
We didn’t get round to taking photos until after Angela left, didn’t want her left out so I attached a previous one 😉
