We rounded off 8 weeks of support with one final push, vacuuming the hall and arranging chairs to leave the space spotless. It’s been great to be involved in such an important cause and we are proud to have seen it through to the very last seat.

We made light work of packing up the night shelter this morning, proving that two hands are definitely better than one and with Henry the vacuum helping, the a mountain of bedding and chairs to shiftwas sorted with time to spare before cracking onto the next job.

Tonights job was fairly speedy preparing the church hall for the night shelter, expertly shifting rows of chairs and making up the beds to ensure a warm welcome for guests. We also got the tables laid and Suja lent an extra hand in the kitchen to help get the evening's food prep underway.

The early bird (Jon) had already cleared the beds and was working on the vacuuming with Henry when I arrived (on time). So with the floors being handled, the focus was on the chair shifting which was a massive game of Tetris, moving and rearranging the hall until the space was officially reset.

Welcome to newbie Marina who was already getting stuck into setting up when I arrived at Martin Way Methodist church tonight. After making the beds we headed into the kitchen/eating area to help finish off laying up the tables.
It seems everyone had been using the wrong cutlery (since last year!), so tonight there was a formal intervention and the rights knives, forks and spoons made their way out for dinner. Who knew!
Congratulations to Marins on completing your first GoodGym session. it was great to meet you and hopefully see you again soon.

Following a call out for extra hands, it was fantastic to have four members of the team and a Councillor rally together to tackle the church hall after the night shelter. We made quick work of clearing away the chairs and other items. Once the heavy lifting was done, we ventured into the kitchen area for a photoshoot to capture the team behind-the-scenes. A huge thank you for helping out at such an early hour!
