Great morning morning at Welling FC. It was an awesome task that involved plenty of sweeping, squating and tossing 🤣🤣
We were in the top stand which was shared with a ton of leaves that needed clearing, the team at Welling FC were happy to 'leaf' it to us as they knew the job would get done properly..............🤪
Thanks Martin and Sean for your hard work this morning, i know there wasn't any subs on the bench to take over.
We’re back at welling football club this week. Due to the restrictions we haven’t been there in a while so there will be lots to do.
We are meet at the club for 10.00 really hope you can all make it. Tim GG
Wow, what a perfect day for a gardening mission. The flowers were out, the bees were buzzing and so were the Goodgym team.
Todays mission was trimming a large circular garden hedge and the team made light work of it. The other volunteer gardeners were so pleased at the speed the job was going at they started on other tasks that needed doing to the garden that might not of got done today.
THE BEES WERE BUZZING AND SO WAS THE GOODGYM TEAM
There really is nothing like watching the Goodgymers come together and get a mission done, its like watching a well oiled machine and a real privilege to be a part of.
Thanks so much for coming out this morning everyone, you are awesome.
Come along and join us as we help out in the Old English Gardens. There’s always plenty to do and it’s always so rewarding.
Come on, sign up and join us 👊🏻😁
Bosh 👊🏻😁 What a morning we've had at the Bexley Food Bank. The gang went into full team work mode as we had quite a bit that needed doing.
THE GANG WENT INTO FULL TEAM WORK MODE
Creates need moving from site to site to get all the food that needed to go out first to the front. The van arrived soon after and it was time to get it filled and on its way, this was done in double time to which we think the driver was pretty pleased, it wasn't long till he was on his way to drop off.
Let me tell ya moving those creates is a great way to keep fit and the team got themselves a full workout session.
Till next time Bexley Food Bank 🙌🏻
Another awesome and worthy mishh in Bexley helping out at our local food bank. Will be sorting and shifting and helping to make sure everything runs smoothly for the staff at the centre.
- Did you know that there has NEVER been a parkrun on the 29th February. This leap year, the 29th falls on Saturday. No-one has ever run a parkrun on this date and the next time this will be possible will be in at least 28 years time! Join us at Bexley parkrun to celebrate the occasion!
- Let us know if you are coming to the Quiz Night at Danson Youth Centre. It is a little different to the conventional pub quiz. BYO snacks and drinks!
- Next Monday we will be celebrating GoodGym Bexleys 3rd Birthday After our group run we will be heading to The New Cross Turnpike.
Tonight 12 runners and walkers met at Crook Log, ready for our task at Bexley Mencap offices.
We welcomed our new members Andy and Liam. Great to have you guys along, we hope you enjoyed your first GG session with us!
We had a quick warmup, deciding not to use the cones as they kept blowing away last week. We then had a quick run straight to the Mencap offices as there was lots to do!
The walking group went ahead and went the shortest way to get there first as they had the keys.
We paced ourselves well as both groups arrived at the same time.
Nick had already prepped the space, so we could get straight to work.
We poured paint into trays, picked up paint brushes and rollers and got to work.
We had plenty of hands to get the job done and in no time we had covered the walls with its first coat of paint.
We helped Nick tidy up and admired our work. Next time we might be able to give a second coat.
Great work tonight guys.
Until next time...
- We have the chance for a double good deed on Saturday.
- Sign up to help volunteer at Bexley parkrun before heading up to help at The Old English Gardens
Tonight the hardcore GoodGym Bexley team met at Crook Log. Ciara might have been kicking off outside, but that didn't put off the 7 runners who were still up for some good deed action!
Unfortunately , the prospect of a nice warm, indoor task at the care home was abandoned as it was canceled last minute.
Luckily, we had some leaflets that the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice wanted us to distribute. They want to spread the word of the community lottery.
We split into 2 teams.
The running group headed out on an out and back, aiming to meet the walkers on their way back.
The walking group started on the leaflet drop straight away.
We managed to keep hold of most of the leaflets, without any blowing away. After no time, we were out of leaflets.
We headed back to Crook Log and discussed the upcoming tasks.
Well done tonight!!! I hope everyone has thawed out 🥶
Until next time,
Tonight, 10 of us met at Crook Log ready for the task.
We had a quick warm up playing 'musical cones' minus the music.
We had a short run to the walk centre, while I led the walking group on a shorted loop to arrive at the same time.
Upon arrival we were met by Joy, who quickly found us something to do.
The task was to clear and tidy the skate park area. There wasn't an awful lot to do as we wernt there that long ago. We pulled up some weeds and cut back some grass as well as tidy some litter. In between, we tried to keep warm by jogging some laps around the skate park and do some star jumps.
After a little while, there wasnt much left to do. Joy asked if we could do a quick litter pick around the car park area.
This didn't take long as there wasnt alot of litter. Great for the environment but not great for us looking for litter!
We emptied the bins and tidied up before heading back to Crook Log.
Great work tonight.
Until next time...
