Roseanne cheered by other people 25 times.

Roseanne is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Roseanne has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

Hobble the Leader

Lewisham Report written by Kim Parker

After a week off group running due to the extreme heat, we were ready and raring to go! It was a shorter run this week over to St Mary's Primary School to continue clearing that space which will eventually become a Forest School. We are lucky to have been involved in this task right from the start and it has been amazing to see the progress since our first visit.

Our main task tonight was a fairly simple one: to remove all the rubbish and glass from the site. The school don't want the rubbish surfacing at a later date when there are children using the area. Armed with thick leather gloves, we began clearing years and years of rubbish including a lot of tennis balls and the more creepy, a doll with matted hair and the more strange, a metal pipe covered in plastic bamboo.

The other tasks that needed to be completed this evening included moving the larger branches and pieces of wood into a pile as these will be used for building structures in the Forest School. And also moving the fence panels to the rubbish pile.

With 5min to go our last task for the evening was to move a pile of concrete that had been dug up to the rubbish pile - the group got stuck in and it was done in no time. All that was left was for me to remove the bramble thorns from my leg and it was group photo time and back to Glass Mill.

Manning the stalls!

Lewisham Report written by Kim Parker

We were back to help at the front garden sale to raise money for Kaths Place. Tasks ranged from taking money, hanging clothes, trying on stylish sunglasses and spreading the word about the work that Kaths Place does.

Why nettle for anything less

Lewisham Report written by Kim Parker

These superstars braved the hot weather and cleared the paths from nettles, now people visiting won't have to dodge the nettles on the path that leads to the beautiful space.

We gathered outside Glass Mill in the sunshine, a slightly smaller group than expected but that turned out to be perfect for the task. It was a slightly longer run over to Wildcat Wilderness and in the heat - everyone did AMAZING!

Our task for this evening was weed bashing the nettles and weeds that were hanging over the path and catching unsuspecting legs (like mine, after all these years I've still not learnt to wear long leggings at Wildcat). Everyone got quickly stuck in and the path was cleared in no time! We even found a frog.

We said goodbye to the cyclists and made our way slowly back to Glass Mill which led to the realisation that there are limited road crossings (time for breaks) on this route. We stick together as a group on our group runs so we stopped to catch our breath and adjust jackets.

Next weeks group run is postering for Food2You – we are going to be heading off in groups in different directions to help spread the word about this wonderful cause - sign up here.

Window cleaning with no pane!

Greenwich Report written by Sara Brimble

The wonderful Deborah Ubee Trust are preparing to reopen their doors and so five goodgymers descended in west Greenwich to get the windows outside the building clean and shining! Greeted by Ziggy the dog we got to the job at hand.

Equipped with cleaning solution and lots of sponges, cloths a squeegee and importantly a step ladder, the group got to work cleaning up the windows. With just one step ladder between us all we took it in turn trying to reach the tops and my jumping technique proved hit and miss…

After only 40 minutes the windows and frames had been cleaned and the glass polished to remove any smears or smudges. We left leaving the outside looking a lot cleaner and satisfied with our (almost) professional window washing complete.
