Wow, Rachel has completed a 12 month mission streak. That means they've cleared gardens, moved furniture and changed light bulbs in spring, summer, autumn and even winter. Show your support and give them a massive cheer!
Rachel, Elizabeth , Jonathan met at Sandy Park for a spot of litter picking with Peter from Community Clean up group, along came our Bobby with his group Pockthorpe/SilverRd pickers. Peter gave us the Health &Safety and Covid instructions and gave us all a Green Party high viz jacket, litter pickers and bin back each. We were then given our area instructions ably given by Bobby along with a route map. Well organised Bobby, i new you had it in you to be organised 🤣 us 3 goodgymers went off together. Our area was quite clean really but everything was very wet due to yesterday’s heavy rain. Rachel, however found a pair of men’s dirty briefs 🙈 ! Which did make us laugh. Our other best find was a book with a slug which we put back into the wild before bagging the book. We were then spooked by a tree that was home to some squirrels which scampered around making the scariest noise, the tree however did make us laugh as it looked like a bottom, perhaps the briefs belonged there once upon a time. Soon we made our way back to the meeting point, left our bags for Council collection, admired the array of items left around the back of the garages and made our way home
Clearing rubbish and litter from Sandy Park and Kett's Cave.
Peter will meet you at Sandy Park, Mousehold Avenue, Norwich, NR3 4RS @ 9.30am.
Elizabeth,Liz, Hannah, Rachel, Mark & Johnathan arrived at Somerlyton Gardens for our carry on from last week. It was Rachel’s 52nd deed her 50th had been done on her own so we gave her a 50 badge to mark the special occasion. Well done Rachel see you in black soon. Mark’s task was to level the ground around the compost bin, Rachel and Elizabeth tackled another of the beds, taking out everything except the roses . Some of the thistles were very sharp, thank goodness for our gloves. Liz, Hannah and Jonathan tackled the large bed dug over last week which was prepared then covered in compost ready for planting. Then all of us focused on de weeding the edges of all the beds giving a lovely finish. Before the end of time it started to drizzle so we did get rather damp, but considering the weather this afternoon we got off lightly. We cleared up, helped take the tools we’d used to the storage garage and all made our way home. Another task completed
Continuing with Digging, weeding, pruning to help prepare a vegetable area and perennials border.
Please meet at Somerleyton Gardens at 6pm. Bring some gloves if you can.
The meeting point will be on the corner of Oxford Street and Somerleyton Gardens.
The next time you see Rachel, they might be wearing black instead of red. They've completed 50 good deeds with GoodGym and have earnt their black t-shirt. Give them a nod when you next see them.
