Cowick Barton Playing Fields is a very popular green area in Exeter. Unfortunately there is often a lot of litter around. Lets do our bit to clean some up!
Join us by the main entrance to the park (there is a little car park and public toilets there).
We will start off with a a few running/jogging laps around the park (all abilities welcome) followed by a little core session and then get stuck in with the litter-pick.
We can't wait to see you there, get some extra steps in and get fit whilst doing good!
PS. Don't forget your gloves!
Four GoodGymers assembled to form our crack litter picking team tonight as we headed to Cowick Barton to tidy up a large playing field, gardens and play area.
We found bottles, sunglasses and more, and a treasure trove of trash in a hedge which seemed to be equal parts leaves and litter.
Top job everyone!
The next time you see Pete, they might be wearing black instead of red. They've completed 50 good deeds with GoodGym and have earnt their black t-shirt. Give them a nod when you next see them.
Seven GoodGymers enjoyed a super sunny spring evening picking up litter from Flowerpots in Exeter.
We found part of a skateboard, a coat, lots of (empty) booze bottles and many more delights.
Congratulations on Karen for coming to her first GoodGym outing. Bonus points for coming with your shirt on!
It was my 50th good deed! Well done me, aka Pete. Negative bonus points for being late and not having my shirt on.
5 GoodGymers braced the cold wind, rain and sunshine on a lovely Tuesday evening to help Whipton Community Centre spruce up their garden (and cemetery!).
Craig and Rosie were unleashed on the lawnmowers, while Lucy R showed off her litter picking prowess. Pete and Clàudia tidied up some gravestones (with plenty of living occupants including spiders and snails) and chopped back bushes which had clearly been enjoying lockdown.
At least we can give our community gardens a decent haircut, even if we're all still waiting!
