It's a sett up!

Haringey Report written by Sarah Moore (She/her )

7 runners braved the sudden cold snap to help the Westbury Nature reserve prepare for a pond. Welcome to newcomer Martin who recently took running - give him a cheer for coming out on such chilly evening!

Missing Pennie we did her very bouncy flexor coordination warmup.

Unfortunately the very cool badgers living on the reserve were sleeping in their sett when we came. Task owner Luke told us about plans to install a webcam, so we can all be badger voyeurs.

Ritu came extra prepared for the mud, by accidentally running in her Docs! Speaking of docs, Marusha failed her doc check but redeemed herself later by twice running home for the correct documents. Soon she will be a fully fledged mission or coach runner.

Thank you Ritu, Oli, Dave and Marusha for this crowdsourced run report.

Pulled through

Haringey Report written by Pennie Varvarides

This week 5 brilliant Goodgym-ers ran 2km to pull weeds for Cafe Connect. Well, four of us ran the first km together, while London transport meant Sarah(Who ran a sub 4hr marathon on sunday!) ran to meet us there and Niamh ran around but didn't quite make it.

Tube delays can't hold us down and we still managed to clear three patches of weeds for Layla and the gang.

We filled two wheelbarrows, with Ollie and Julie on one team and Sarah and Cathy on the other; and cleared away the overgrown weeds and grass in record time. Leaving time for a quick snack inside of freshly cut oranges and apples.

Living Under One Sun is looking for support to get enough pledges by 7 December to get some funding for out door lighting. If they get enough pledges, they'll be considered for the Mayor's Fund. Go to Spacehive.com/tottenhamcafeconnectoutdoors if you want to help.

We had a quick team photo before heading to our sprinting track for some sprints and a circuit.

Julie headed back to base to go to Roller Derby, while every body else did some squats, press ups and tricep dips.

First GoodGym run in history where ALL of the runners were doing full press ups off the floor. Proud moment for me.

Then it was time for stretches and carrot cake, courtesy of Cathy, who hit the big 100 mark for good deeds. Well done, Cathy!

Goodgym has been a massive help to me - not only in terms of physical well-being but also psychological. I can't thank everyone I've met at Goodgym enough for their encouragement, advice, support and of course great company!!

On the fly

Haringey Report written by Pennie Varvarides

This week 6 GoodGymers can 3km to spread the good word (of GOODGYM).

Our new task was canceled due to asbestos, so we will have to wait to go get stufk in with that one. Instead, we headed around the local streets posting GoodGym flyers through doors. Hopefully they lead to a few referrals and/or new runners!

Julie was able to drop in to help with the task before roller derby practice; and Liam was back for the first time in ages!

Once all the flyers were done, we headed to in front of the Town Hall for some sprint drills, working on knee drive and active ankles, followed by a fun knee tapping game.

This is a great game are used to play when I taught tae kwon do. Everybody got stuck in and five rounds later everyone was beat! Just enough energy left for a gentle shake out back to base for stretches!

Can’t see the woman for the trees

Haringey Report written by Pennie Varvarides

This week 8 brilliant GoodGym-ers ran 2km to help out at a brand new task!

We were helping the resident's association with a community garden project. All of the weeding and pruning until the over-grown garden looked twice the size!

As always, we started with the burpee name game to warm up and make sure we all knew who was who.

We then took an extended loop to get across the road, where we met Beth to collect the tools and find out what to do.

40 minutes later and we had cleared the lot. It was time to return the tools, take a team photo and say our goodbyes.

We headed over to the doctors' surgey carpark for some sprints and burpees. Nurjehan beat Dave in a great show of speed, and Ritu doubled up with an extra sprint to make up the numbers.

We then headed back to base for stretches and a debrief. Great work, folks!
