Tonight 11 GoodGymers ran 5km to support Barge Road Community Garden.
Kudos to Mark, who was attending his 100th session!
We continued where we left off last week, pulling up roots, weeding, sieving through soil and picking up litter.
This weeks surprise find was an old Barbie! After 45 minutes of filling buckets, bin bags and piling up rubble we headed home after a job well done.

It was a great task this evening as we visited Somerleyton Gardens again, this time to lay some new paths with wood bark (and no, thats not Woody pretending to be a dog).
Half of the gang were digging up the grass for a new section of path while the other half of the gang were pulling up grass between wild flowers, where the rest of the bark (woof woof) would be laid.
Each time we visit we make a great impact on Somerleyton Gardens, I need to find some old photos of our first ever visit to do some comparisons.
I love the group photo underneath the tree full of blossom.

We visited West Earlham Community Centre for the first time, to help tidy up the front garden area, before the upcoming opening days for Into University.
This task was organised by our member Laura, who it was great to see again.
Our main tasks were to clear an overgrown flower bed, stain a couple of picnic benches and to plant plenty of bulbs, deep in the ground.
A big thank you to Into University for providing us with some snacks to keep fueled.

It was our last Group Run of 2023 and what an amazing one it was.
15 of us visited the tenants at Redmayne View Housing with Care, for an evening of Christmas Carols.
Congratulations to Tasha Watts who was completing her 100th good deed!
We mingled in with the tenants with a cup of mulled wine, warmed up the vocal cords and began a festive evening of joy.
Many a carol was sung including classics such as 'Away in a Manger', 'O Come on ye faithful', '12 Days of Christmas' and 'We wish you a Merry Xmas'.
It really was the perfect end to an awesome year for GoodGym Norwich.
Merry Christmas everyone.

This evening we returned to Hayden Court Retirement Home for the first time for quite a while.
A big welcome to Paula who was doing her first GoodGym deed!
We had a games evening lined up, the first half being Boccia and the second half being New Age Kurling.
There were 9 residents and 9 GoodGymers, so we mixed up and had two teams of 9.
The red team took the honours at Boccia, winning 4-2 but the blue team took revenge at New Age Kurling, winning 5-1.
It really was a great evening with brilliant company.
