Bromley Report written by Bromley runner
A new task ๐ for GoodGym in Bromley Town on a beautiful and warm โ๏ธ Saturday morning - we'd been in contact with Bromley Homeless, who work out of Bromley United Reformed Church โช in the town centre, and they needed some help painting ๐จ Heeding the call were Michael and Millie, both Bromley Town regulars, plus Hannah from Croydon - a GoodGym painting session attracts from afar ๐ Great to see you all!
We met with Lianne, who organises fundraising for the charity and was going to pitch in with us, plus some of the service users, to bring new life to the charity's day room. The day room is open during weekdays for those who need advice, support and a safe space ๐๏ธ The adjoining hallway was also due a new coat.
First of all, we had to get the sheen off of the walls so that the new paint could grip. Armed with sandpaper, the team got the old paint keyed in super quick time. Dust sheets were then put down and rollers readied so we could get to work.
The hallway was GoodGym's main contribution, with a nice coat of white to replace the old neutral colour.
I'm sure we really boosted the group's efforts this weekend to get that painting done. The service users should have a bright and fresh space to use from Monday ๐
Great work, team! ๐

Ria, Tatiana and Millie spent their time helping facilitate manager, Lisa and her son Finn start tidying the Mind SLE garden, ready for staff and patients to enjoy when the refurbished centre opens
Litter was picked, leaves racked and weeds cleared, all packed into bags ready for either the compost or the bin.
More work needs to be done, but it was great seeing how much progress we were able to make in a short amount of time, and we hope to return!

Thanks James for the pun-spiration!
Last night 11 wonderful people met for a jog and a good deed in the dark in the park.
We met at the Bridge House, shared our top tips for warming up on a cold day and hit the pavement - a lovely downhill jog to Cator Park.
Armed with shovels, a brush and just one wheelbarrow, we set about widening a path which was being encroached on by grass and soil. There was a lot of scraping, some slicing and some shoveling to fill up the wheelbarrow before it got dumped by the hedges.
In the end we managed to free up a good metre in places and a serious chunk of the path completed โ
Top job/jog everyone! ๐โโ๏ธ๐ชโจ
