There's always More 2 do at the nursery!

Greenwich Report written by Greenwich runner

On a mild and sunny September evening, five keen GoodGym-ers arrived at one of GoodGym Greenwich's favourite tasks - More 2 Childcare.

After an introduction from Eve we set about a wide range of tasks. Myself and Miguel gave a selection of rugs a good clean, with a hoover and then a carpet washer. Julian and Megan got busy weeding and tidying up the raised beds outside. And finally, Brin pressure washed the playground (after wrestling with wires, adaptors and hoses for what seemed like forever!)

Great work team. Many hands makes light work, and we managed to get loads done in just one hour!

Megan completed their first run in a new area.

Curious? Megan has just run their first session in another area. For that explorative spirit Megan is awarded the scout badge. A Scout is trustworthy

Knicker Picking

Lewisham Report written by Kim Parker

The weather wasn't on our side in advance of our first group run since the pandemic and I was worried that I'd be standing outside Glass Mill on my own but Lewisham GoodGymmers did not disappoint! It was lovely to see some familiar faces, some sporting their new 100 t-shirts, and also lovely to see some new faces - hope you enjoyed your first group run!

We started with a quick warm up and then made our way over to The Waterlink Way, it was so wonderful to hear the chatting as we ran along through Ladywell Fields and reminded me why group runs are so important.

We were surprised to find that The Waterlink Way wasn't as full as litter as expected so we returned to the entrance area to clear the area that was overrun with litter but we did pick up a penguin (wrapper), a sock, a hat, a pair of knickers (always a GoodGym Lewisham find) and a lot of cans/bottle tops. After also returning 2 trolleys to Wickes that had been abandoned in the green space, it was time for us to head back to Ladywell Fields for our Olympic themed workout.

The Olympic themed workout included squats, fast feet and karate kicks - everyone did amazing!

Next week we are off to a GoodGym Lewisham favourite - Wildcat Wilderness. Don't forget to sign up!

This made me smile so much, it’s lovely to see group runs back, happy faces (on such a grotty day) and our area looking *good* again. Well done everyone and congratulations on your first group run as Area Activator Kim!

Community Cape

Megan earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.

Megan completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Megan was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
