Keeping Welling today after the festive season

It was party time at Parkview Care Home, and we were there to help with the preparations!
There were trestle tables to put up, patio chairs to wipe down and bring indoors, tables to be moved aside, serviettes to be folded, plates to be put out, and festive hats to be given out.
All of this set to a Christmas tunes playlist, and lots of chatting with the residents.
After a spin around the room with the drinks trolley, it was time for us to head off with cheery "merry Christmas!" wishes as we said our goodbyes.
Welcome to GG Bexley, Bassey. We're glad to have you with us now you've moved to our patch from Croydon.

We had a treemendous time decorating the trees at Parkview Care Home last night!
After some of us ran to the task from the sports centre, we met up with Andy, the care home activity co-ordinator, and the other GoodGymers.
We split into two groups in order to decorate the trees in different lounges, with the help of some of the residents. We had a lot of fun chatting with them and sorting through all the baubles.
In no time at all the trees were done and it was time for us to go.
Ho ho ho until next time ✨️!

Luke done 50 good deeds and got their black t-shirt
The next time you see Luke, they might be wearing black instead of red. They've completed 50 good deeds with GoodGym and have earnt their black t-shirt. Give them a nod when you next see them.

Last night we had a busy and brilliant evening celebrating Luke 's 50th good deed, welcoming Manish to his first, and doing a poignant good deed - helping Discover Welling take down the Remembrance poppies along the high street.
When we did this task last year it was a struggle cutting through the cable ties in the finger-numbing cold.
This time, thanks to the eco-friendly reusable ties we’d used to put them up, and a much milder evening, the job was far easier!
Afterwards we found a big table at the pub for a lovely social with eats, drinks, lots of chat and laughter.
As well as forgetting to take any photos during the task, it turns out that we missed a few poppies too. But Julie was in the area this morning and collected them in her highly appropriate Royal British Legion bag.
The poppies and cable ties will be safely stored away so that Welling can pay its respects again next November ❤️
