It was time to revisit The Albany and we were following in the footsteps of a group of corporate volunteers who had been helping in the garden during the day.
Our tasks for the eve were either litter picking or digging up the soil around the compost bay to make it more defined area and more level.
We quickly split into teams and once we had all our tools we set off to tackle our tasks for the evening.
There was a lot of shoveling happening around the compost bay and then wheeling the excess soil away. It wasn't long before the brickwork edges of the path were revealed. We're not sure when they were last seen but with GoodGym's help they're now on show.
The rest of the group did a thorough litter pick of the garden. As always, we found a random assortment of items including a glove, a saw, a blanket and plenty of cans and bottles.
Great work everyone!! Next week we are heading to Luxmore Garden to continue weeding the flower beds.

First task of the evening involved everyone! We had to move three water tanks to the other side of the garden. World's strongest GoodGymer (Ivar) moved one on his own and then the other two needed everyone, not that they had a metal frame and water in or anything!
Next on the list was moving some wooden pallets and then moving part of the compost pile onto them. And then the final task was digging and an area where the 100 sunflowers are going to be planted. We can't wait to see how great that looks later in the year.
After a quick tidy up of tools and a group photo it was time to head back to Glass Mill.

To mark the end of the Easter weekend, the best of Lewisham (and Greenwich) met at Glass Mill to run to Ladywell Fields to try and get to the end of the pile of woodchip.
Focusing on one woodchip pile this week, we began shovelling and wheelbarrowing and carrying bucket full of woodchip to the hedge saplings.
It was a good strength workout and we definitely got our steps in as some hedge saplings were quite far from the pile of woodchip.
With all saplings mulched and the pile much smaller than when we arrived it was time to say our goodbyes and head back to Glass Mill.
We've helped plant and care for these hedge saplings over the past couple of years so it's wonderful to see them growing.
Thanks to Ivar for the pun!
Next week we are heading to The Albany which will be around 4.5km run in total and we'll be joined by the garden team so expect more tasks like shovelling and woodchip over the usual litter pick.
