Oh yes. Chris is training. This is how the greatest atheletes on earth are made. Chris is making it happen. They logged their first training run on the GoodGym site; extraordinary things are sure to follow.

Junior Choice 📻
A drizzly start to Boxing Day was made much brighter by the huge number of hi viz vests congregating in Bransbury Park.
There were a good number of festive outfits from both volunteers and runners and lots of little legs got safely round the 2k route.
It was also a day for milestones. John was very excited to be wearing the wings to celebrate his 100th good deed! And as a collective, we went over 5000 good deeds which is brilliant!
Well done all, and Merry Christmas once again 😁

Helping out at Boxing Day Eastney Junior Parkrun

Welcome the return of Parkrun by volunteering with Eastney Junior Parkrun!
Eastney Junior Parkrun is a 2k run every Sunday at 9am in Bransbury Park for 4 to 10 year olds.
While they always need volunteers, we've offered to bring the Goodgym good vibes on the first Sunday of the month. Should be really fun cheering the kids on. All the details of the event here: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/eastney-juniors/
We'll need to be there ready for 8.30am by the café. If you want do (or avoid) any particular volunteering role, leave a comment below or message me. They are keen for extra marshals and tailwalker(s) in particular.
This is a special double volunteering points opportunity!! Goodgym and Parkrun if you are registered - dust off that barcode!
No doubt there will be coffee and chat opportunities afterwards :-)
Make sure you sign up and I'll let them how many of us can make it the week before.

Litter & lost property
It was good to get back to joining Southsea Beachwatch and lots of other volunteers for a monthly beach clean.
Our group included Alice & Chris, who fitted in a visit to Father Christmas, and Louisa, Yvonne and their doggie beach-combers, Pip and Benny.
As well as collecting plastics, litter and fishing tackle to add to Southsea Beachwatch's large sack of collected rubbish, we also reunited lost items with their owners. Yvonne found my lost glove and Rosie returned a woolly hat to a young beachwatcher.
So many good deeds in one day!

Saturday beach clean

We will be joining Southsea Beachwatch once their cleans are back up and running and doing our own beach cleans in the meantime.

We Shone, Portsmouth!
We had a lovely evening supporting Fratton Big Local with their parade as part of the We Shine Portsmouth festivities.
Katie stepped up to the role of volunteer coordinator and expertly had us dishing out lanterns to the parade attendees.
We all managed to get through the parade with our hearing intact despite close proximity to the brilliant battala band. Aoife Rachel and Katie had some fabulous ship lanterns, whilst Chris and I were very privileged to carry the veteran lantern, the Fratton Fox.
