The wind wasn’t going to stop the Goodgymers from turning up at Shrewsbury House. We gathered here today tasked with cleaning a room in preparation for a wedding. We got brooms and mops, to have and to hold, and before long we had mopped, swept, dusted and wiped every inch, until we finally pronouncing the room spotless.
When the happy couple arrives for their wedding they will find the hall not just clean, but Goodgym clean. Before disappearing into the windy night for our clean getaway, we’d like send our best wishes to the happy couple, and suggest one of the following songs for the first dance:
Something about the way you mop tonight
We will mop you
Another one sweeps the dust
Mopping really matters
Dusting in the dark
Mop it like it’s hot
I love you dust the way you are
Sweep me baby one more time
Should I spray or should I go
Oops!… I cleaned it again
Dancing Clean
Dusting on the ceiling
Don’t mop me now!
Mopping Compares 2 U
Clean on me
Smells like clean spirit
Moptown girl
Dustpan and wife

"Should I spray or should I go" 🤣 🤣 🤣

This absolutely cracked me up 🤣 I love it! The hall will be sparkling, but honestly the song list might be the real highlight. From “Mop it like it’s hot” to “Dustpan and wife” — I’m swept away by the creativity. If the cleaning is half as good as the puns, that place will be spotless and the dance floor ready to shine ✨🧹

Also have to say this is why GoodGym tasks are great for our mental health — getting out, moving, doing something useful, and sharing a few laughs like this with everyone is such a simple but powerful mood booster. And now I’m walking around singing all those songs in my head with the new lyrics… lol 🧹🎶

9 GoodGymers caught early spring vibes in Central London!
On Wednesday evening — at approximately half past six — a special group of altruistic folk could be seen congregating on Tottenham Court Road.
Some wore red t-shirts. Others were jumping off bikes. And everyone was ready for a little good-deeding!
This lovely lot — Al (on their first good deed – welcome!), Alex, Imogen, Philippa, Sarah, Steve, Theo, and Thierry — turned up to get everything ready for the American International Church's winter shelter ☺️
Together we:
💪 Lugged umpteen camping beds into pristine position!
🪶 Discovered the quickest way to pull a duvet cover onto a duvet!
🍽️ Turned an empty room into a dining room!
✨ Left the space ready and welcoming for the evening's guests!
Thank you, everyone!

6 GoodGymers caught some good deeding vibes amidst London’s festive fare!
Settled in the heart of Piccadilly sits St James’s Church.
At this time of year, it is a favourite of tourists and Londoners alike (arriving for carols and services aplenty), and we had to bustle our way through the crowds to arrive on time last night.
Yet we were soon off and away to a peaceful garden, where this special group — of Alex, Charlie, Imogen, Kush (new to GoodGym — a huge welcome!), and Steve — made a wonderful difference.
Huge and bountiful trees border this green space, and they’ve been shedding their summer coats since October. Our task was to rake the lawns and sweep the paths, clearing the leaves for good for another year.
The brilliant Catherine from Green City Projects was our host, and alongside her we turned a leaf strewn garden into a clear, safe, and tidy spot in just 60 minutes.
Thank you, everyone! Here’s to next time!

8 GoodGymers made a wonderful difference in Kentish Town!
We took a visit to one of our usual haunts last night.
Nestled in a corner of a cul de sac — away from the usual bustle of Kentish Town — is a very special sheltered housing scheme.
With a winding garden full of seasonal delights, this group got to quick work yesterday evening!
❤️ Alex, Sam (on their first good deed — welcome!), and Steve transformed a weed strewn vegetable patch into a perfect image of fresh soil ripe and ready for next year's planting :)
❤️ Gary and John started off by weeding one flower bed... then two... then three! And then they turned their quick hands to raking and sweeping, making everything better by the minute :)
❤️ Caitlin and Jackie visited a resident's garden and made the swiftest and most efficient work of the fallen leaves, gifting this space back to the very grateful resident :)
Thank you, everyone! Here's to next time!
