Mission

Wordless communication

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.

Today’s mission is life-changing for me. Mr I lives with his young son and I think there are only two of them supporting each other to get through this difficult time. Mr I is deaf and has diabetes so he is not able to go out, neither his son as they are self isolated together. I thought it would be difficult for me to communicate with Mr I but luckily his son is able to hear and speak. I could see that Mr I was very grateful and he really wanted to thank me properly (he is unable to speak very well). I felt very emotional after completing this mission because they are immigrants (So am I) and they can only rely on community’s help. Today I am grateful for being healthy and active. I’m looking forward to helping more people.
