7 runners ran just over a kilometer to shift compost bags, then ran back

A positively balmy evening in early December, all that warm Mediterranean air clouding over us, providing a nice cosy blanket. We had Carol back in the team after a spell away, Christina returning for her second consecutive session (can she match Rodrigo's 13?)....plus GoodGym tourist Peter. A few other terrific regulars, the team and scene was made - to get a sweat on and do a little good.

We loosened limbs and got heart muscles firing up, whilst rolling through some news. Wanted to congratulate the ladies that hit the Wanstead ParkRun. Hopefully I/we can in person in next week. This week's random question was "what would be your dream job?". I appreciate, not an easy question to fire out an answer to, one you want to deliberate over....but not in Newham. We had approximately 30secs to spit out dreamy job. Wildlife photographer, astronaut, astronomer (Mairead used to actually be one! Told me that I don't get on well with Pisces and to never look a Scorpio in the eye...). Still waiting for answers from Carol and Alex! You are welcome to stick it on the facebook group, only fair, right?!

A scoot over to mobile garden city. Tons of compost that needed shifting, many Goodgymers that wanted a workout...balanced equation there. A real team effort on this one, requiring everyone to get their hands a little dirty and a little tired. This job would've taken an eternity solo and I imagine with significantly less laughing, unless you laugh very loudly by yourself (you may want to look into that ).

When spading the compost out of the bins, I posed the question "how much dosh would you require to eat to a small fork full of the compost?". It was quite steamy and not what you'd get at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant...more Heston Blumethal. After Alex carefully assessed the earthy sludge, full of rotten food, she decided £2,500,000 would suffice to eat the - "appetising" - bottom layer. Someone has impressively high standards, I was thinking £2,500...I reckon Justin would've done it for free.

We came across several mice in the compost bins, as we nonchalantly destroyed their family home, the guys became attached and proceeded to name them James, Jeffrey, Jemima and Kanye....At this point I began to realise the fumes from the earth may had had a hallucinogenic affect on them. It was time to down tools and crack on back to base!

Really enjoyable penultimate session of 2016, thanks for being a part of it. Much giggling but we also managed to move about 70 bags of soil...more or less, right?
