On a Earth Day, six of Goodgym's most conscientious runners met in Wanstead to run through the bluebells and paint ironwork. They ran 5km in the process and made the World a better place. Total legends!

With a few warm and sunny days under our belt, Goodgymers met at the usual meeting point, the lovely Wanstead House Community Association. With light fading a little, the squad decided to head out for a run in Wanstead Park before tackling the ironwork painting - making the most of the spring light and better running conditions.

It's been almost a year since we last ran in Wanstead Park and I'm pretty sure this must be the best run of any Goodgym area. Massive props to Jenny aka "Red Leader" for guiding us along the route, it was great to see all the blue bells along the way.

Back at base the team began work on the ironwork that surrounds Wanstead House. We've been working on this task over the last six months and the results are looking spectacular. Gone are the rusty, paint peeling gates and in their place are black shiny ironwork, resplendent in the spring sunset. Well done crew, I reckon there is still a few sessions to go but we're getting close to finishing and the gates are looking amazing.

Fresh back from an Easter break? Why not get involved next week when we do more good deeds in the local area. You can sign up using the link on the right...
