There was a buzz in the air last night as the group assembled.

3rd time lucky

After a little warm-up we ran a speedy 4km to South Park for the 3rd time. To our delight it finally stayed dry!

Clair, a Friends of South Park organiser, met us to explain the tasks and tell us a little bit more about the Ecological Garden*.

*There was a campaign started 7 years ago by a 97 year old lady to build an ecological garden in South Park. The area was a derelict part of the park where a kid's paddling pool that had been filled in with concrete. They final got a grant from the council and the garden was finished last Christmas.

The group weeded the paving, removed litter from the wild flowers and swept up the fallen bark, twigs and branches to build a bug hotel.

They got tons done in no time, leaving the area looking spick and span.

Helium balloon

We took a slightly gentler pace back. Remembering our running posture - keeping our heads held up as if a helium balloon was holding us up.

It's all for the food

After a warm down we headed to Wagamama to tuck into some tasty food. Where some runners declared they hated running and others were going vegan.

Give Aska a cheer for organising our jolly social once again!

PSB,
OUT.
