For Brent's second mission of 2019, Abi and I returned to Brent for our second mission together there this weekend. I was very glad to see Abi arrive as she'd been participating in some of the climate change demonstrations in central London yesterday evening and jokes had been made at our mission yesterday about the likelihood of her being arrested. Obviously she had managed to escape incarceration on this occasion, which meant that our mission could go ahead as scheduled (the most important consideration in such circumstances 😉😄 (you may think I'm joking, but I asked to be her first phone call 😅))

Our task for the morning was to do a general tidy up for Ms P in her front garden: she's found it more difficult to do some of the tasks associated with this as she's gotten older, and was hopeful that we could provide a little help.

There were two main jobs to do. The first was to cut the hedge. Abi was happy enough to attack this with gusto, and I was more than happy to let her (I don't trust myself to trim anything in a straight line, and I don't think other people should trust me on this either). That left me to start off the second job of de-weeding/de-mossing the rest of the garden. Abi joined me on this after she'd finished with the hedge.

One of the best things about gardening missions is being able to chat with your mission mate about completely random stuff while you work. This proved the case today, as we chatted for around two hours on topics covering the full spectrum of the four Greek words for love: storge, philia, agape and eros (mostly storge tbh - families are tricky beasts!) It's conversations like these that make me feel more connected to everyone and part of a greater whole 😄

Finishing up, we made our goodbyes to Ms P, who'd seemed happy with our efforts over the two hours. Hopefully with this done, the rest of the garden will be more manageable over the rest of the year 😄

Lovely mission, Abi and Liz! Looks like you had no rest over the bank holiday at all, hope you're both having relaxing starts to the week!

Cheers, Nikki :) I made sure to have no plans at all on Sunday and Monday, so I'm fully rested (& full of Easter chocolate :D), but Abi did some GoodGym everyday! Woot! :D
