This morning I met up with the lovely Becki for her first ever mission! 🎉🎉🎉 (I brought along some Kinder eggs to celebrate because: a) mission running is a sweet deal: and b) I think everyone enjoys building those little toys 🔨)

Our emailed task was to help facilitate Mrs A's release from hospital by moving a sofa to make space for a hospital bed to be installed in its place. We'd also been told that an occupational therapist would be around to meet us at Mrs A's house to help direct our furniture-moving efforts.

This all seemed very straightforward. As we were running early (and we were uber keen 😎), we decided to knock on Mrs A's door about 15 minutes or so before our scheduled start time to see if we could get cracking a little sooner.

We were welcomed into the house by her husband, Mr A, who offered us the finest of all possible coffees. Unfortunately, I prefer my drinks a little sweeter so had to decline, and Becki just took some water, but we both very much appreciated his kind offer! 😊

As we waited for the occupational therapist, we discussed some of the proposed furniture moves with Mr A. He was not keen on the sofa being moved, and suggested that we instead moved a matching armchair in the three piece suite (and a small coffee table) to make some space in the centre of the room. As this would only take a few minutes, Becki and I moved it with the hope that the occupational therapist would be happy with the new arrangement when she arrived.

Furniture moved, we sat down to chat with Mr A while we awaited the occupational therapist. Topics included Mr A's secrets to a long life (including 2 glasses of wine and 100g of (weighed) blueberries a day) and the importance of pronouncing long consonants in foreign languages. I suspect that he would make an excellent GoodGym coach, although I wouldn't personally advocate all of his dietary habits!

After a time (the chatting ran away with us 😅), we realised that the occupational therapist had yet to turn up so called GoodGym central for any further updates. Unfortunately they weren't able to get hold of the occupational therapist, so we simply made our goodbyes to Mr A with the hope that the new furniture arrangement would work 🍀

Great seeing you again Becki: Hopefully see you on another mission soon and congrats again on your first mission! 😊
