5 stoic runners ran to a community garden and sawed wood

A more typically British winter's evening greeted us yesterday. Nonetheless, we were excited about our first trip down to the mobile garden city this year.

A stones throw away, at under 1mile, it allowed us to get there sharpish and apply all our logic to the various locking devices in action. Firstly there was a case of identitying the correct gate, then correctly unlocking the padlock. Relatively easy. Then once into our task location, we had a ferocious struggle with inanimate object - a shipping container - opening her up proved a challenge. A potentially embarrassing one, but in the end good always prevails, and we cracked it (opening a shipping container is definitely going on my cv). Once inside, we were greeted with a note from the lovely Gabby who organised the task, it sounded like a Crystal mission, we laughed, but we loved it really!

There were numerous planks of woods that needed sawing for a seedling protection unit. Pete started measuring with perfection and precision. Alice became the middle woman, giving silky flow to our sawing train. Rodrigo and Tim were the powerhouses, sliding through that wood like a piping hot knife through butter - delicious. I was amazed and impressed by the speed of it all. Bravo guys.

We legged it back in the rain, and finished with 5 x 20second hard efforts. Working on our power, cadence and arm carriage. It was a tenacious display in less than favourable conditions. Nice one guys.
