Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
This run report comes with a soundtrack.
Twelve chilly runners braved the elements on a 3 mile round trip this evening to return to the Huddleston Centre in Clapton to brighten up a communal area with a lick of paint.
This week we were privileged to welcome no less than five brand new, fresh faced Good Gymers into the mirky, night time, winter wonderland of Good Gym Hackney’s Tuesday good-a-thon. So, after a brief introduction to the many ways in which we help we local community we were straight into a pavement-side warm up of high knees and tuck jumps to get the blood flowing and off on 1.5m journey to this weeks destination.
We first visited the Huddleston centre a few weeks ago which, in their own words, “aims to enable disabled people and their families to take maximum control of their own lives and play a full and active role in all aspects of the community.” The team there run clubs every week night in term times and also run holiday play schemes to provide education and skills training for disabled young people aged 9 - 25 years and have been renovating some of the areas of the centre recently - that’s where we come in.
Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee)
Provided with a arsenal of brushes and rollers, not to mention the specifically requested "90s pop" soundtrack GG Hackney made light work (as usual) of the painting to the tune of The Offspring, Bloodhound Gang, Eiffel 65 (!) and Men at Work while a splinter group of four eager cleaners where despatched upstairs to help clean out the awesome soft play room.
A quick squatty warm up and then swiftly back to base for a quick ‘core blast’ of knee-charges and planks brought the evening's session to a close. Bring on Wednesday.

Yes! Thanks Pru - I think it's my best yet. Maybe even in the running for the yearly pun-down!
