Sometimes, missions just go entirely smoothly. This was the case today as I met up with fellow Camdenite Abi for a pre-work mission in Hackney. Even my commute there had only one small fly in the ointment (a bug decided to get stuck in my eyelash as I walked from the tube station. This is as close to a perfect commute as you can get).

Our mission today was to move a wardrobe and a chest of drawers for Mr B in order that he can move around his flat more safely. Mr B's son had asked us to help out after his own health issues meant that he was unable move these himself.

We were welcomed into Mr B's home by his carers as Mr B was taking a nap (it was a pre-work mission after all 😅). It was then that we found out that Mr B's carers had been really helpful by both emptying out all of the furniture to be moved and by measuring the spaces designated for receiving the furniture. This meant that even though there were a few more pieces to move than originally planned, it was all still straightforward and quick to do 😄

There were two main parts to our operation. The first part was to move a chest of drawers and one of those tables comprising an integrated sewing machine to an external shed. The second part was to move a long dressing table and an incredibly tall wardrobe out of Mr B's bedroom and into respective rooms. Luckily, the wardrobe was formed of three separable pieces (the largest of which being on wheels!! 😍😍😍). This made it so much easier to get through doors and angle around corners, so this second part was completed in a jiffy (I'd told Abi immediately before knocking on Mr B's door that we should hope for a wardrobe on wheels, so I'm glad that the universe arranged this for us! 😄🍀)

Furniture moved, we made our goodbyes to the carers and to Mr B's son (who appeared mid-mission to help out where he could) before heading off to work (where I found some Elizabeth-themed chocolate from my mother waiting for me, so my good day is continuing! 😍). Good working with you again Abi: have fun at the launch run for Solihull tonight! 😄
