Sevan was excited to have some runners for today's group run to Cultivate's plant nursery in South Acton. At least he was until, on the way to Bodyline, something in the back of his leg decided to let go. The excitement was still there though, so he limped on to meet Madhan and Ben then run to the task location. Kash was already walking her way to the site and arrived first. As the running group neared the entrance, a few drops of rain started to fall and we joked about Ben's faith in the British spring time as he hadn't brought a jacket 👕.

Cultivate had a lot of equipment that needed to be moved around to prepare for relocating to their new site along the road. First up, 3 identical bathtubs were stacked to save space. This was a nice easy start as the now empty bathtubs were unexpectedly light. One job ticked off the list. More like this please!

The next job was transferring rolls of turf into the top bathtub to make them easier to transport. The rolls were rolled along in a wheelbarrow, then poured into the bathtub. Poured being a very apt word as it was at this moment that the heavens opened. At the start, it was pretty darn heavy ☔ and we decided to carry on, then a few minutes later a meteorologist could have labelled it as "freakin' torrential" 🌧️🌧️🌧️. Our usual GoodGym hardiness went down the drain and we decided to hide in the Cultivate staff cabin until it was safe to emerge.

Downpour

We kept peeking out of the door and 15 minutes later the noise outside had dropped, so... take 2. We ventured out and moved some more turf into the bathtub. Then for a second time, we were drenched and 3 of us ran for the cabin. We were one GoodGymer light though. We'd lost Ben! We worried that he might've been carried away in the flood, but a few minutes later he left his hiding place and joined us in the cabin.

Once again we waited and waited for the rain to stop. We wondered if we'd be in there overnight and if we could order a Deliveroo 🍕. It finally eased off at 8pm when we were due to wrap up the task. We didn't want to leave a job half done, so we sent Ben shopping for the last of the turf, finding that a trolley was as good as the wheelbarrow for shifting the rolls. Achieving something felt so good that we decided to stay on a bit longer and do some extra weight training by moving 15 bags of compost.

When we did decide it was time to go home, no one wanted to run back to Bodyline in their wet trainers. We planned our bus and train routes home and wished for better weather next Tuesday night.
