This week, it was a year since lockdown was imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and, indeed, it is a year to the day that the first phone calls were being made as part of the Oxford Hub's Phone Link Pod B. The screenshot is from the new platform being rolled out by Oxford Hub and Oxford Code Lab, which is much less clunky and much more streamlined than the previous format. It's quite incredible to see all the connections being made across Oxford and it has been eye-opening to see how much difference just a weekly check-in phone call can make to those who are living alone.

This week was my first delivery as a volunteer for the Home Library Service with Oxfordshire County Council. The elderly lady who I have been paired up with enjoys listening to audiobooks of historical fiction and cosy crime and she seemed thrilled to have someone to visit and chat with on a regular basis! I'll make regular visits every few weeks with a new selection of audio books so hope she enjoys this weeks selection.

To finish off the regular working week, there was a food shop for a young family nearby to keep the cupboards stocked with the Easter school holidays just around the corner.
