Today 4 people ran and cycled along to Knavesmire Primary to help them out with a practical task.

This week, they had a large builders bag of bark chips delivered so that their forest school area can be made safe and welcoming for learners in the new school year.

The task? Helping one of their team transfer the chips from the sack in the car park to the forest school area - not far away, but a job that would have taken a single person a lot longer.

We dug, barrowed and raked and the before long the chips were down. With a bit of spare energy, we gathered up some sticks and tidied them away, and helped reattach the bamboo privacy layer to the fence between the area and the playground.

With our tasks tackled, we headed off - each planning slightly different routes to dodge the York Races crowds (title credit to Max!).

Mission accomplished!
