The first Wednesday Group Run of the year was on a dark and stormy night, a gale was blowing but the torrential rain had luckily stopped.

A band of plucky runners met at Roll for the Soul to run to Windmill Hill City Farm in Bedminster. We ran through the deserted wet and windy streets to Queens Square where we did some dynamic stretching and a couple of laps at different speeds to get warmed up. From there we ran on to the Farm to get involved in the task.

Windmill Hill City Farm is an amazing community resource, providing a rural oasis in the mean streets of South Bristol! This week’s task was to give the volunteers room a vital spring clean. We got stuck into the task: scrubbing, scraping, sweeping until it was good as new.

After a quick look at the goats we headed out of the run home. We did a lap of Victoria Park, (almost) dodging the puddles on the way, before running back through St Mary Redcliff Church and back to Roll for the Soul. The run was a total of 6.4k.

We’ve got another run this Saturday, and the next Wednesday run is on the 19th February.
