A quiet but pleasant and productive evening on the waterway with just four of us in attendance, apparently there was something good on the telly!

We welcomed Robert along for his first good deed and it was great to see him get stuck straight in alongside Mel, Stu and Huw with our continuing task painting the sleepers north of Abbey Park Road along the River Soar. Give him a cheer!

Armed with our new wire brushes we set to work cleaning the sleepers down before slapping on the paint, completing about another 40 metres towards this 300m section. About 110m to go, with some vegetation to cut back to access some of it, another couple of visits should do the trick.

Our focus turns next week to the Watermead Challenge where we'll get the chance to do a good deed AND actually run in a race! How exciting!

Sign up to come and help before the race here. If you'd like to run the race after and haven't yet entered (the race is officially sold out) then come along in your running gear and hopefully we may be able to use a race number of a "no-show" to get you into the 5 mile run.
