Being able to communicate with friends and family on a regular basis has been critical to the mental health and well being of so many isolated people during lockdown. No more so, than for my coach, P, who really looks forward to our chats over the telephone each week. P has a quick wit and loves language, so, hoping to add another dimension to our communications, (and distraction from Lockdown fever), I managed to secure an old typewriter and some Scrabble games, which I delivered to P. Now we are looking forward to a bit of friendly competition and an extra laugh or two, as well as the more serious issues that sometimes come up in our conversations. P also used to enjoy writing poetry for friends and family, but is now unable to hold a pen or use a computer screen, so the typewriter will hopefully unlock her hidden poet...and provide a much needed distraction from the stresses of being in lockdown. I am really looking forward to reading some of her poetry before too long, and suspect that there may even be one about GoodGym...watch this space 🤔😉
