Mrs S was very grateful for some more help in her garden and she presented me with a new adze to dig up the long grass and weeds. It was great timing as the recent rain had softened the ground which made it much easier to dig.

We usually bag up the garden waste but this time she asked me to leave it in a big pile.

I never heard the word "adze" before! One can learn a lot from the missions. You did some proper grass hacking with that an ancient and versatile tool, Dave!

She used to have an old one but it kept coming apart - the new one is fab though and it is a great digging tool Kash!

I've tried a similar tool (but it was described to me as "the plough") - almost as good as a mattock! :)
