4 Westminster GoodGymers ran 8k to Little Venice to remove 4 full buckets of plastics from Westminster’s waterways!

A small but strong group in Westminster this evening! Undeterred but the lunch time rain we headed off on our longest run we do on a new route out to Little Venice.

Working our way on the 4k route up to The Canal & River Trusts HQ on the banks of the canal at Little Venice. Grabbing our tools and heading out with the main mission to get as much plastics out of the water as possible to remove the contaminates from out water systems!!

Unfortunately we had loads to do with the high winds and litter droppers been causing havoc along the basin.

So many plastic bags, bread bags, big bits of polystyrene, bottles and wrappers all in the water we able to rid the waterways of so much so quickly!! Hopefully it’s not so bad next time, but great to make a big impact so fast!

All the rubbish emptied out and hands sanitised we headed back to base at a really top pace knocking out the K’s really well!!

A little stretch and we were done!!

Off to St Andrew’s Youth Club next week, be great to see you there.
