It was a beautiful warm autumn morning for the first GoodGym Bristol run in a few weeks.

We met at our usual meeting point of Roll for the Soul and ran through the centre of town and up to Brandon Hill to complete our task at the Nature Reserve. For this week’s run we had a great combination of a really physical task and a slightly shorter run than normal.

At Brandon Hill we met with Rob from Avon Wildlife Trust who gave us a quick briefing on the history of the nature reserve and to explain the task. We split into two groups, one group clearing a large mound of brambles using scythes and loppers and the second group shifting all the chopped down vegetation to fill gaps in the hedge using pitchforks. Both groups did fantastically, clearing a really big area and shifting loads.

To complete the run we did two laps of the park and headed back down the hill to Roll for the Soul. Great work all round!
