14 Goodgymers arrived at Wholefoods ready to run and thankfully this was achieved without the downpour earlier in the day.

Before we hit the pavements, Mark had lots of news to inform us about, if you are interested in any of the points below, give him a shout:

  • GoodGym is turning 10! From 16th September all GoodGym areas are being asked to celebrate in style and throw as many parties as possible. We need to think of what we want to do to celebrate and get some iconic photos (with flags) of some Richmond landmarks on the night of our run
  • Full of Life Fair is taking place on Friday 4th Oct, if you do not work on a Friday and need another GoodGym fix, you can volunteer to man the stall which will be 10am till 4pm at Twickenham stadium
  • There is also a Climate Change Summit where we can also have a stall (and a free vegan lunch) on Saturday 19th Oct, from 11am to 1.30pm at York House in Twickenham

With the news done and Mark exhausted from it we strolled over to Richmond Green for a yoga inspired warm up. As well as a fun game of “human agility ladder” where we raced to weave in and out of one another and no one, not even one of us tried to cheat (wink wink).

Strava’s at the ready we headed out for part one of our 7km run, heading up Church Road where we stopped for a quick photo opportunity and then down to the river and along the towpath to Marble Hill park, ending up at Marble Hill Play Centre.

Tonight, we thought we would be returning to the infamous yellow paint, but we had to quickly forget that task as there wasn’t any paint in sight and instead move onto weeding and turning over the wood chips so that they looked (in Mark’s words) “fluffy”.

Time soon flew by, that’s what happens when you have a good old natter while you work. All we had left to do was a quick go at hopscotch and wall sits before heading back to Richmond Green for a welcomed cool down under the beautiful evening sky.

Big welcome to Michelle from GoodGym Hounslow for joining us tonight and good luck to Lenka for the Two Tunnels race in Bath this coming weekend

See you next week, happy running
