“You know the drill” said the mission confirmation, and what a nice drill it is, up and down the Greenway to Royal Docks Pharmacy, dropping off meds with Miss A on this occasion. Straightforward and appreciated by all as always.

Perhaps the kids sensed the benevolent nature of my journey, or more likely because I cycle quite slowly, but I was flagged down as I went past a nearby primary school with a polite request to return a basketball over the fence so that their game could resume. This other Hilary Wood (whose existence I’m aware of because we have very similar email addresses…) would have been more confident in their ability to get the ball back without any concern for their dignity should more than one attempt be required. So if anything, I went a bit long, which was not a problem for this budding Newham under 11s team, good to see them having an active lunchbreak.
